August ED - Brasa and Grand Ole Creamery

http://www.brasa.us/
Jenny picked "a spot in St. Paul called Brasa - new restaurant on Grand (Creole, Carribean slant so meets ED requirment!) but more important is across the street from Grand Ole Creamery in the event we want to go for a walk and have some ice cream afterwards. I've heard great things about this place though so want to give it a try."
Jennifer had early volleyball.
Chris was at a quilting retreat.
Stacy's Alex was not feeling so good plus family life has been busy and they were getting ready for a wedding the next night.
The rest of us were served family style and shared chips and quac, a pound of meat, and four sides:
Homemade chips & guac
Rotisserie Chicken roasted w/ Creole Style Dry Rub
Pulled & Seasoned w/ Mojo Pork
Collards w/ Smoked Turkey
Crispy Yuca w/ Mojo
Cabbage & Mozzarella Salad
Rustic Style Cheese Grits
We had fun sharing all that food ... rave reviews for the quac!! I really liked the Crispy Yuca, too. The grits were so-so. Any other comments, Jenny, Wendy, and Lisa ?
The restaurant itself was such a fun atmosphere and very open with garage door size panels that were lifted so it felt like we were eating outside.
As usual the conversaion was lively ... it seemed like we all had so much to share! We also nailed down our Fall getaway date ==> Nov 12-14th. And decided we liked the idea of staying as close to the cities as the cabin that Lisa found in Lindstrom. Being in the very Scandanavian town of Lindstrom, Jenny also came up with the idea that we should do a Scandanavian meal this year. And then take turns with all of our nationalities each year. FUN!
THEN we went to ...
The line was out the door but it was a beautiful night and we didn't mind waiting at all. YUM!
Thanks again, Girlfriends!!!
Looking forward to Chris's pick in September!
